Open the Instagram app and Log in to your account using your username and password (if not already logged in) on your mobile and click on settings as mentioned below.

Click or tap on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner of the Instagram app (as shown in the screenshot below).
From the settings menu, select “Settings and Privacy”

Now Select “Personal details” on the next menu screen in Instagram app.
In the Personal details Section Now Select the “Account Ownership and Control” option. (see Screenshot Below)
On Account Ownership and Control Screen select “Deactivation or deletion” option.
On the Next Screen Deactivation or deletion, you need to select your Instagram Profile/Account (in case you have multiple accounts. (as shown below), if you have only one Instagram account, this screen may not popup for you.
On the Next and Final Screen, you need to Select “Deactivate your account temporarily” or “Delete account.” Now you need to select your required option and Click on Continue button.

Please Note: You may not be able to delete your account from the Accounts Center immediately It will take some time or a few days.

After your account is deleted, you can sign up again with the same username or add that username to another account as long as it hasn’t been taken by a new person on Instagram.

Once you’ve deactivated your account, your profile, photos, comments, and likes will be hidden from other users. However, your account information will be saved, and you can reactivate it later by simply logging back in. Keep in mind that you can only deactivate your Instagram account once a week.
